Hooray for some warmth in the spring sun! But whilst you’re digging out your sunnies 😎 to top up the vitamin D this weekend, have you dug out your sunscreen too??

Really?? I hear you say... YES, absolutely! In fact, a good sunscreen should be part of your everyday kit, EVERY single day regardless of the season and the weather. This isn’t about just about potential sunburn but did you know that it’s the UVA rays that are responsible for the premature ageing effects on the skin?

Those gorgeous rays break down collagen and elastin causing skin to sag and develop wrinkles ahead of its time. Hyperpigmentation can also occur leaving age spots which believe me, are really difficult to hide with makeup when the tan goes!

A good broad spectrum sunscreen (one that’s does UVA and UVB) should be the final layer of your daily regime, just like a coat that you put on before you go outside. It should be applied regularly throughout the day and should not be scrimped upon. A thin layer is as much good as a raincoat made of tissue!!
